Engagement photos are such a wonderful way to celebrate your engagement, show off that new ring, and announce an upcoming wedding! I absolutely love photographing engagement sessions. They are a way to let your personality as a couple shines through in a way that sometimes doesn’t translate on a wedding day.

Engagement sessions are also super important for couples and photographers alike. As a photographer, you get to meet your couple before the wedding (no asking who the groom is when you walk into the dressing room). But for couples, it’s also a chance for you to see what it’s like to work with your wedding photographer. You get to learn how to pose in front of a camera, so one you feel confident on your wedding day, and two we get to go a bit quicker through photos because we all know what to expect. – This means we can get to the party faster!!

I love being able to help my couples feel comfortable in front of the camera and a bit part of this is taking engagement photos. Wedding days can be stressful enough but adding in the fact that you may have someone you have never met following you around with a camera all day is enough to rattle the best of us. This is exactly why I include a complimentary engagement session with my wedding packages. – Even if you have already taken engagement photos before it really is important and beneficial for us to still get together for an engagement shoot.
