We have officially been in our new house for just about a year now! It has taken some time to figure out where I can have my own space. In our old house, my office got turned into Grayson’s room when he was born, which was okay since I wasn’t doing a lot of work during that season of life. Now however things are definitely picking up and I’ve realized that I really need a space of my own. This summer I decided to manhandle a queen size bed up to our attic by myself from our spare bedroom. Y’all that was a freaking workout! The rest of the summer I have spent trying to figure out the best use of the space. This is the first time I haven’t had an extra bed in my office and I’m loving having more space!
Just last week I finally got my big desk moved over from the old house. (yes I still have junk over there I need to go through!) Big shout out to Tayla for helping me lug this thing up the stairs! I’m not 100% finished decorating, I think that’s kind of a long process that I like to take my time with. But I wanted to show off my new office to ya today! It’s taken me a long time to find my own style, and really understand why I like the looks of different rooms I see on Pinterest, but I’m gosh darn proud of this space so far!
There is a lot of white space, warm wood tones, and tons of plants! I have a large dresser along one side of the room that houses all my photography equipment. My lenses, memory cards, batteries, and flashes all live in this big wooden dresser! I have a large TV sitting on top of the dresser for now after moving out of my studio space.
I love how this space is open. Beautiful, but also functional for what I need to succeed! Check out the source list at the end for links to everything!
Plants I have in my office include – Heart Leaf Philodendron (super easy to care for! This is the one on my desk) Fiddle Leaf Fig trees, ( not so easy to figure out!) Sweet Potato Vine- I just took cuttings off the ones in my flower pots outside this summer and stuck them in the water! Hen and Chick Succulents
