5 tips to get the most out of your planner

1 Use your planner every day starting the night before, and first thing in the morning.  If your anything like me your mind doesn’t settle down the moment you get into bed.  My head is usually going through all the things I didn’t get done today, and making mental notes of what has to get done tomorrow.  If I can at least brain dump everything into my planner for the next day I get to sleep way faster!

2.  Brain Dump like a boss!

Brain dumping is where you write anything and everything down.  My brain dumps include everything from making my bed to editing weddings, to going grocery shopping.

3. Review your week ahead of time – this is important to help you determine what is the most important to get done first, and what can wait till mid week.

4. Make a top three-five list

This is a daily list (I make a top 3 tasks) of things that have do be done that day!  This list can be something like go grocery shopping, pay bills, what ever you have to get done before you go to bed at night!

5. Use your planner for both personal and work.

keep everything in one spot!  this way you will know if your afternoon is free for that play date, or if you have a work meeting scheduled that afternoon, and need to find a babysitter.  Tip: color code activities in paper planners!

NOTE:  I am using the PurposefulPlanner for 2016.  I have used the DayDesigner for the past two years, and wanted to try something a little different this year! I loved the DayDesigner though!
