Taylor and Heather met playing softball when Heather’s team was short a few players and had to borrow a few extra people from a neighboring town. Harvest started later than normal that year, that was the only reason he was available. Heather always wondered if he hadn’t been there that weekend if their paths would’ve crossed some other time. Taylor seems to think so!
Taylor farms with his dad right along the Montana North Dakota border. Taylor lives on his grandparent’s farmstead in Montana and his parents live a few miles down the road on the North Dakota side. Taylor joked about how in college everyone always thought his brother’s ID was fake since it was an ND license with an MT address! We were hoping to be able to photograph some of their engagement photos in the blooming canola, but with such an odd year for weather, we missed the blooms by a few days! As we pulled up to our last location, a wheat field Taylor had chosen Taylor laughed about how this was usually what they did on date night. Just drive around and check on crops.
While spring through fall is definitely a busy time for farming it was during the cold winter months last year that Heather and Taylor took a trip to Nashville for a winter vacation. As soon as they got to the hotel and unpacked, Taylor dropped to his knee with the ring he had been holding on to for a while. Heather said yes and they headed off on the rest of their vacation to celebrate!
As we drove to that wheat field and Heather and Taylor talked about how the water tower of Westby MT was right on the state line I had to sit back and just admire just how awesome small town life is, and how thankful I am to be out here in the middle of nowhere, the landscape is beautiful but the love stories are even better! I can’t wait to photograph Heather and Taylor’s wedding this October just a day before my own anniversary! Congratulations Taylor and Heather!
