After a few weather-related reschedules, the stars aligned, and I finally met up with the delightful Reghan and Josh for their engagement session in the majestic settings of Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s North Unit. This couple’s story began online, and their first real-life spark ignited at the nearby Watford City Rodeo—an event that’s clearly set the tone for their adventurous spirits.

Josh, an electrician by trade, and Reghan, who serves valiantly in Fire and EMS, brought along their two adorable Labs, Nash (short for Nashville) and Teto. Decked out in bandanas that playfully read “Dad asked” and “Mom said yes,” these pups not only added to the cuteness factor but also celebrated the journey of their humans from a heartwarming proposal to a lifetime of adventures.

The Proposal

The proposal itself? Picture this: a serene ice fishing trip in January, with Josh sneakily asking Reghan to check the tip-ups outside. As she stepped back into their fish house, there he was, on one knee, ready to change their lives forever.

Exploring the park, we found new nooks and crannies I hadn’t shot in before, which truly paid off—especially with the majestic bison making a cameo in the background (safely, of course!). As we explored the park, my camera captured the laughter, the affection, and the stunning scenery that framed Reghan and Josh’s engagement session.
