It is officially 2019! The new year has me excited and nervous all at the same time. If you have followed our story at all, then you may be aware we are currently in the longest stretch without a heart surgery for my husband. In fact on the 1st of February, it will be officially one year since Justin’s last surgery. I feel like I’ve been holding my breath for almost a year now. Actually, I’ve been clenching my teeth and have now developed TMJ disorder (temporomandibular (
One thing that TMJ has taught me though is that even though I don’t know what the next year holds, worrying about what could go wrong is not only pointless, it’s pretty painful! I feel like I spent most of December preparing. Preparing to host my first Christmas Eve, and preparing for the new year. Again this year I got the Power Sheets from the Cultivate What Matters Shop. I took my time in December to work through all the prep work. The prep work is definitely hard work for sure. Digging deep to find what really will matter 80 years from now, and reverse engineering how to get there.
Here are the goals I’m focusing on in the first quarter of 2019.
Those are some fancy goals right? Y
I’m really working on starting my mornings on the right foot! First thing I do when I get up now is wash my face. I have been so bad about washing my face in the mornings! Next I head downstairs brew a cup of coffee while I unload the dishwasher. Then I head to the couch to do my daily bible reading and go through my prayer journal, and my start today journal. My number one rule is that I can’t check Facebook or Instagram until I’ve done all three things! Then I head back to the kitchen and fill up my water bottle. A promise I have made to myself is to drink half my wight in ounces of water a day.
I found a bible reading app and started a chronological plan that has reminders and helps to keep this goal on track! I’m currently 5 days ahead!
When it comes to creating a life-giving home this goal is kind of two-fold. It encompasses the physical home as well as our traditions and rhythms. (If you haven’t checked out Sally Clarkson’s book “The Life-Giving Home” you totally should! I’ve got a list a mile long of spaces in our home I want to continue to work on. I also have an actual laundry list because laundry does actually need to be done! I’m also working on creating one on one moments with Skyler. I’m having to be a bit more intentional about plannig these out now that she’s in school.
When it comes to the goal of strengthening the Chelsy Weisz Photography brand, I’m excited to be working with some awesome business mentors this year. I’m also part of a new accountability group which has me pretty excited!
I’m also planning on blogging a lot more consistently! Here are some of the topics I will be covering. Wedding Planning, Lifestyle, Photographer Education, Marriage and Faith, Family Photography. I will also be sharing sessions and weddings as I photograph them! I’m also pretty active over on Instagram stories, so be sure to check that out!
What are your goals for 2019? Have you broke them down into actionable steps yet? How are you keeping them top of mind? Let me know in the comments!
