It’s no secret that I LOVE first looks. If I had a dollar for every time we cried during a first look, I’d probably be rich! : P

Today I’m going to share 5 reasons why you totally SHOULD do one.

Everyone is so different and there’s no right or wrong – you just have to make sure whatever you end up doing truly resonates with both of you!

A first look isn’t for everyone, but it might be for you if these ring true to you…

5 REASONS YOU SHOULD DO A FIRST LOOK

1. A “FIRST LOOK” IS MOST LIKELY THE ONLY PRIVATE, INTIMATE MOMENT YOU’LL HAVE ALL DAY.

The whole day is one happy blur and it all goes by way too fast. But this intentional moment, even if it’s only 10 minutes, is just for the two of you. You hug, kiss, chat, and more than likely cry! (Even if you don’t, I probably will!)

You get to tell him how handsome he looks and he’ll probably ask you to twirl in your dress for him. It’s truly the sweetest.

2. YOU CAN SHARE PRIVATE VOWS BEFORE THE CEREMONY.

The idea of saying personal vows in front of 150 guests isn’t for everyone. This is also a great time to exchange gifts in-person to see each other’s reactions.

3. THE PRESSURE IS TOTALLY OFF!

Once you see each other, you’ll feel relaxed and excited to get your tush down that aisle! Some brides (myself included) can’t handle the idea of seeing your husband for the first time while being in front of all your guests.

It’s nice to be able to relax, knowing you’ve already had your moment together so you can just focus on the ceremony!

4. YOU’LL GET TO ENJOY MORE TIME WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

Doing a “first look “means you get the pictures taken care of before the ceremony. No need to worry about an hour-long photo session cutting into your precious time with your loved ones!

Plus, you’ll fully get to enjoy the highly-anticipated cocktail hour and be fully present with your guests!

5. MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PHOTOS!

I’m a fan of a first look because you get twice as many photos with your beau! And let’s face it – weddings can be unpredictable and sometimes there are unexpected delays that can cut into your photo time together.

Having a first look ensures that no matter what happens, we still have plenty of time to capture beautiful moments of just the two of you!
