There was so much love surrounding Heather and Taylor on their wedding day. The speeches certainly summed up just how loved these two are, and how excited their friends and family were about this long-anticipated day! Heather’s brother Andreas, who was her co maid of honor, had everyone laughing so hard, as he retold stories about his big sister. Mark, Heather’s dad ensured there wasn’t a dry eye in the Crosby Community Center.
The Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westby, MT where the ceremony was held, was at full capacity. With friends and family traveling from near and far, to watch these two become Mr. and Mrs. Dusty blue bridesmaids dresses complimented grey tuxedos on the groomsmen. There was certainly a rustic-chic feel to the day. Tonia Eriksmoen & Erin Sorum the wedding decorators brought in so many amazing furniture pieces that were used for things like a candy table, the punch station, and even the cutest bar set up I’ve ever seen! Boston ferns flanked the bar sign that read “promise you can dance – alcohol”
And dancing there was! Kickin’ It Entertainment kept the music going and the dancefloor filled. One of my favorite shots from the dancing was during Heather and Taylor’s first dance where an oversized lighted LOVE sign created a beautiful backdrop to a beautiful first dance. Though the images of when Katie, Taylor’s sister caught the bouquet were a close second!
It was such a joy and honor to be part of this beautiful day. The weather was perfect for a mid-October wedding, and the sun was gorgeous following the ceremony when I stole Heather and Taylor for some quick sunset images under a golden cottonwood tree behind the church, which resulted in beautiful sunkissed fall portraits.
I love sunset images for a few reasons. First, the light is always the most gorgeous then. Second, by scheduling sunset photos, my couples get a tiny little pocket of time to just bask in the joy of the day. It’s just the three of us and often the first time the bride and groom get to just take a step back and relax and soak in the fact that they are officially married! Heather hugged me as we finished up sunset photos and agreed that sunset photos were probably the most relaxing part of the day!
After sunset photos, the bridal party piled on to the party bus and headed for Charlie’s Bar on Main Street in Westby. Before heading off to Crosby, ND for the reception. Heather and Taylor thank you so much for entrusting me to photograph this special day, it was such a joy to be there with you two! Please join me in congratulating the new Mr, and Mrs.!
