5 tips for Wedding Hashtags no one tells you

1. Everyone can share and see

Wedding Hashtags are an easy way for friends and family to share your images so everyone can enjoy them. Aunt Sally might not know your bestie Instagram handle but she can easily find those photos when she searches your wedding hashtag!

2. Make sure your hashtag isn’t being used somewhere else!

Test your desired wedding hashtag by typing it into the search bar in Instagram and selecting the “HASHTAGS” option right below. This is essential. The main purpose of having an event hashtag is to conveniently collect photos from your guests’ Instagram accounts all in one place!

3. Don’t wait until your wedding day to start using your hashtag!

You can share behind the scenes leading up to your big day! This is a fun way for friends and family to share in the wedding planning experience, and is a wonderful way to document it so you can look back on your journey leading up to your wedding day!

4. Connects your vendors!

When your photographer shares your images, or your cake decorator shares they can tag you! Not all of your guests may know who all helped to create the wedding of your dreams. When they share your images using your hashtag your friends and family can see who helped you bring your vision to life!

5. Don’t be afraid to set limits!

Requesting that you’d prefer guests to stay off their devices during some of the more intimate events in your wedding isn’t asking too much. Not that your friends and family are going to be taking mid-ceremony selfies, but special moments like your vows are always better when everyone is fully present and your loved ones aren’t watching the moment on a screen.

You know what lenses capture the highest resolution moments? The ones on our very own eyes balls. Check out this post on unplugged weddings!

Strategically placing a sign near the entrance of your ceremony venue will do the job just fine. A short and sweet message that reads something along the lines of “Be in the moment, y’all! Please refrain from using any devices during the ceremony. No worries, we’ve hired an amazing photographer who won’t miss a beat,” should get the message across without sounding uptight.

What are some of the best wedding hashtags you have seen?

Meet Chelsy

After being a professional photographer for over 5 years, you would think that I would grow weary of weddings, right?! The reality is, I have seen and photographed it all and

the more that I shoot, the more that I fall in love with this job! The joy, the excitement, the feminine details, the tears, the dances with daddy, the portraits that take your breath away…. I love it all. Even after 5 years, I still can’t get over the fact that I have been trusted with preserving over 50 weddings!! I don’t take my job lightly.

From 2016-2018 I stood by my husband, Justin, as he battled an infection after the placement of a new heart valve. He had the valve replaced 3 times, and just recently had his sternum removed after the infection took hold in his bone. Throughout the entire journey, we clung to God and each other. Having someone to stand by your side through thick and thin is one of the best things in life. I am so honored that I get to document couples as they stand before God, their family, and friends, and vow to stand side by side.

Before every wedding day begins I sit in the car and I pray for the couple, their families and for the ability to capture my couple’s celebration with excellence and creativity! Besides raising our daughter, Skyler, and son Grayson photographing weddings is truly one of the most rewarding parts of my life! The friendships and experiences that are created with my Weisz Couples last far beyond the wedding day and I believe that’s how it should be! I am excited for you to keep scrolling to learn more about how being a Weisz Bride isn’t your typical photography experience; it’s so much more!
