Enjoying Peace in His Presence – My 2020 Devotional

Today I wanted to share the devotional I’m using. Its called Jesus Calling – Enjoying Peace in His Presence by Sarah Young.  Last year I had the goal of reading the entire bible in chronological order, which turned out to be a lot of reading.  This year I wanted something a little bit shorter of a daily read.  Each day is on just one page, and usually only a paragraph or two with the scripture it’s based on listed below.

What I love about this devotion is that it’s written to you from God.  Each day is reminding you that there is Peace in God’s Presence all we have to do is be still and notice it.  Here is a sample of that.

Find me in the midst of the maelstrom. Sometimes events swirl around you so quickly that they become a blur. Whisper My Name in recognition that I am still with you. Without skipping a beat in the activities that occupy you, you find strength and peace through praying My Name.  Later, when the happenings have run their course, you can talk with Me more fully.

Accept each day just as it comes to you.  Do not waste your time and energy wishing for a different set of circumstances.  Instead, trust Me enough to yield to My design and purpose. Remember that nothing can separate you from My loving Peace you are mine.

I want you to experience the riches of your salvation: the Joy of being loved consistently and perfectly.  You make a practice of judging yourself, based on how you look or behave or feel.  If you like what you see in the mirror, you feel a bit more worthy of My Love.  When things are going smoothly and your performance seems adequate, you find it easier to believe you are My beloved child.  When you feel discouraged, you tend to look inward so that you can correct whatever is wrong.

Instead of trying to ‘fix’ yourself, fix your aze on Me, the Lover of your soul. Rather than using your energy to judge yourself, redirect it to praising Me.  Remember that I see you clothed in My righteousness, radiant in My perfect Love.

I was given this devotion as a thank you gift, and it has been wonderful to read. I’m not perfect and I have definitely missed a few days, but I just pick up on today’s devotional and give myself grace for any missed days.

So if you are looking for a devotional I highly recommend this one.  Remember there is nothing magical about January first, you can start a devotional September 6th if you want, you just have to start!

I'm chelsy

hello!

I'm Chelsy a small town farmwife from western North Dakota. I built an elegant wedding photography business in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a camera and a google search bar. When my husband's one heart surgery turned in to a three-year-long battle, it turned everything on its head. I vowed to help other small business owners put systems into place to ensure the business can still run even if you have to step away.
