A few of my favorite things

Hello, lovely readers! Today, I am thrilled to share the heartwarming engagement session of Josh and Emily amidst the awe-inspiring beauty of Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s North Unit, located just south of Watford City, ND. Join me on this enchanting journey as we explore their love story, from a surprise proposal on the golf course to an unforgettable evening capturing their genuine connection in one of nature’s most breathtaking landscapes.

As a wedding photographer, there’s nothing more fulfilling than capturing the essence of a couple’s love story. When Josh and Emily reached out to me, they expressed their excitement for the engagement session, mixed with a touch of nervousness about being in front of the camera. I assured them that it’s completely normal to feel a little apprehensive, but I promised to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where they could be themselves.

On Sunday afternoon, we ventured into the Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s North Unit. The park’s vast landscapes, rugged terrain, and sweeping vistas provided the perfect backdrop for this special occasion. As we began the session, I could sense their initial nervousness, but I knew it wouldn’t take long for them to feel at ease.

During our initial conversation, Emily shared the heartwarming story of their engagement. It happened on a sunny summer day while they were enjoying a round of golf at the picturesque Links Golf Course. As they approached a green with a stunning view of the lake, Josh cleverly incorporated a surprise element into their game. With a mischievous smile, he handed Emily a ball, which she assumed was just a regular range ball. Little did she know that this ball held a hidden message. As she focused on the writing, she turned to find Josh down on one knee, holding a ring. Overwhelmed with joy and excitement, she joyfully accepted his proposal, and their journey toward forever began.

As we ventured deeper into the park, capturing their love in every frame, the initial nervousness gradually dissipated. We laughed, shared stories, and embraced the serenity of the surroundings. Josh and Emily’s chemistry was palpable, and it truly reflected in the photographs. The candid moments of stolen glances, warm embraces, and playful interactions unfolded effortlessly. It was a beautiful testament to their love and the connection they share.

By the end of the session, the nervousness had transformed into pure joy. We had truly become a team, exploring the park’s nooks and crannies, chasing the golden hour light, and creating everlasting memories. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of pink and gold, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to witness such a genuine and captivating love.

I left the session feeling even more excited about their upcoming wedding in November. With their love, laughter, and enthusiasm, I know their special day will be filled with cherished moments and heartwarming memories.

In conclusion, capturing Josh and Emily’s engagement session in Theodore Roosevelt National Park was an absolute delight. Their love story unfolded amidst the rocky landscape of the North Dakota Badlands.
