A few of my favorite things

When Brooke started working up in Watford City a few years ago, she thought for sure she would do her time here and then move on, little did she know she would meet Joe, and they would be walking down the aisle on September 4th, 2021 in Arnegard North Dakota surrounded by friends and family from all over the country.

The dusty blue bridesmaid dresses by Azazie looked absolutely stunning on all of Brooke’s dear friends, and Joe’s friends and brothers looked sharp in their grey suits from Men’s Warehouse. Mabe’s Flower Market knocked it out of the park with the florals. The simple color pallet was so elegantly tied together with white roses, delphiniums, and seeded eucalyptus making up the bridesmaid’s bouquets. Brooke’s bridal bouquet also includes blue globe thistles to tie in the dusty blue wedding color.

Brooke’s father walked her down the quant aisle of Wilmington Lutheran Church in Arnegard. Where Pastor Garrett Gudmunsen got these two officially hitched.

After the ceremony, we captured the family formals and captured one of my favorite images of Brooke with her Grandma. I love having the family formals after the ceremony since everyone is already in one spot, and we don’t have to worry about family members missing the formals!

We then all headed to Watford City sporting our new magnets on our vehicles that Joe’s brother had made for the couple using some of their engagement photos from earlier this summer. (mine is totally up on my fridge now!)

This was the first time I have photographed a wedding at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City and y’all I am in love!! What a beautiful and functional building!  The reception was held in the convention hall and is seriously a photographer’s dream to shoot in! Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the north side of the building with a view of the new football field.

Sometimes ballrooms or conference rooms don’t have the best lighting but this was amazing!

Slezak Bakken BBQ and Bakery served delicious pulled pork and created a beautiful raspberry-filled cake, and mixed berry cheesecake.

Joe’s brother Dan pulled double duty for the wedding and was not only Joe’s best man but was also in charge of the entertainment! Danny Savage One Man Band is based out of Bismarck but travels all over the state as a solo performing artist and one-man band.

Though after Saturday I think he could add DJ to his list of talents.

(He also serenaded us with a ukulele while waiting for the first look!)

We finished off the evening with one of my favorite parts of the wedding day, sunset photos!

We took advantage of the Rough Ridder Center’s beautiful architecture both inside and out.  I love the reflections we got off the glass on the back lawn, and wedding guests watched from the window as we finished up.

Brooke and Joe are currently on a beach near Aruba (with strict instructions to wear lots of sunscreen!) on their honeymoon, congratulations guys, and safe travels home!
